Question by Justin: Could long term use of marijuana give somebody panic attack disorder?
I’ve been smoking since i was 14 5/7 days a week on average (until more recently since i got diagnosed with panic attack disorder)

could i have it from smoking? i often get panic attacks when i smoke but i did a lot more often when i didnt smoke

also, if i were to completely quit, would it go away? im being treated with prozac for it as of now and ive been on it for not even a month

thank you so much in advanced

Answer by Katie
Yes weed is a lot stronger these days and it can definitely lead to panic attacks adn even psychosis. Quiting should help but Im not 100% on that.

www.FreeGuideToSecrets.com Prevent Your Next Panic Attack What is a Panic Attack? A panic attack is a sudden feeling of intense fear that begins for no apparent reason and triggers severe physical reactions. You may feel frightened to leave your house or to be left alone in case something awful might happen to you. You may feel suffocated, shaking, stomach pain and muscle pain all over your body. You may think you are losing your mind, or even dying. When a Panic Attack Turns Into a Panic Disorder After having these panic attacks the first few times, you start to be afraid of the next panic attack. You may find yourself on guard all the time, afraid of the next surprise panic attack. Just the idea of having another painful fear is paralyzing you. Who can you trust? Are you alone feeling like this? Are you going crazy? Are you dying? Panic disorder is a living hell. The good news is that you shouldn’t believe anyone that tells you that this condition can not be cured. What NOT TO DO to Prevent Your Next Panic Attack Most people, in an attempt to prevent panic attacks, try to avoid situations that trigger them. Any place that makes them feel unsafe, they avoid. This is not the way to go — this only gets them occupied and even more focused on the next panic attack. This only leads to greater fear and the problem gets worse. Want to stop those panic attacks dead in its tracks? Visit here: www.FreeGuideToSecrets.com

Question by Stavros: CAN ANXIETY OR PANIC DISORDER SYMPTOMS LAST 24/7?
can symptoms of panic disorder or anxiety last all day to days or weeks without any on set to an attack and why?

Best answer:

Answer by Nichole B
I dont think you can have an attack without an on set. I have panic attacks that used to send me to the floor.

There is usually something that triggers it even if you don’t know it right away.

How to overcome panic attacks?

by admin on 02/09/2010

Question by SILENCE_O_FOOLISH_ONE !: How to overcome panic attacks?
Is agoraphobia a sign that a person is having panic attacks? How do i overcome this anxiety disorder without going through medication? For the last five years panic attacks have crippled my life. Please help!!

Best answer:

Answer by Jerry
AGORAPHOBIA often occurs as a result of having had a panic attack in a public place, and not wanting to repeat that experience outside of a place where someone feels safe, which is usually at home, in a place where they feel exposed, and unable to get help quickly. 85% of people are suggestible, to some degree, so you could either seek professional hypnotherapy, or more alternatives along such lines are on page 1, at 8m.com, below, about agoraphobia. At the first sign of one, employ an ANTI PANIC ATTACK breathing technique. Advice from a clinical psychologist is to breathe in to the count of 3: (one thousand one; one thousand two; one thousand three) each takes around a second to say to yourself, in your mind, and out to the count of 3. Keep repeating this until the panic subsides, which will deal with the hyperventilation aspect. Read: “Power Over Panic”, by Bronwyn Fox, from your bookstore, or enter “panic attacks” in the searchbar at Amazon.com for more media. View http://deeplyrelax.com & www.deepsloweasy.com/html/intro.htm Note: the controlled breathing only helps with the symptoms, as do medications/herbal remedies. Address the underlying cause, which requires some form of therapy; see your-mental-health.8m.com, below, re anxiety, on pages 1, h, & i. Page h shows the difference between panic, and anxiety attacks.

Imagine that the cause of your panic; your anxieties, fears, your self doubts, self recriminations, all the agonizing “I’m-so-Stupids”; every painful “I-can’t-do-it” are huge raging, hurtful bulls snorting and charging at you. You see them coming at you and you hold out your red matador’s cape at arms length and simply let them charge right by. Every time they come at you, hold out your arm with the red cape and let them rage and snort and go right on past. Some people recommend nettle tea, with a little honey. Others use Lavender tea, Lemon Balm, Chamomile, but use no milk or cream with herbal teas, or Valerian (caution: use it for 3 weeks at most!). Know how these affect you before driving, or doing anything dangerous, and it is far better to use the treatments, rather than relying on herbal remedies. Free online PANIC COURSE – www.panic-attacks.co.uk also available by email. See the section on panic attacks at www.mind.org.uk also Ebooklet form. They recommend letting a panic attack run its course, without doing anything to treat it, so you KNOW you will survive it. The usual maximum is 30 minutes, until symptoms begin to subside. Also see www.anxietypanic.com/signs.html
and http://www.onestepatatime.com (chatroom, and one free email is allowed to their resident expert on joining [free] – more if a paid up member) and

www.medicinenet.com/panic_disorder/artic… and www.squidoo.com/controlpanicattack/modul… and http://www.anxietynetwork.com Practice a relaxation method, daily, and when needed, such as http://www.drcoxconsulting.com/managing-stress.html or http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/mindbody/a/Meditation.htm or http://www.wikihow.com/Meditate or Yoga Nidra, (a series of easy mental exercises only; no flexibility required) at http://your-mental-health.8m.com/blank_11.html Hypnosis is merely a heightened state of suggestibility, in which you are better able to communicate with your subconscious mind. 85% of people are suggestible, to some degree, so you could either seek professional hypnotherapy, or more alternatives along such lines are on page 1, at 8m.com, about panic.
